Note 2-34

34 Masahiko Aoki and H. Patrick (1994) noted that main banks under the Japanese-style management refrain from intervening in management of their corporate customers with good financial profiles and get involved in such management, including liquidation of companies, when financial profiles deteriorate beyond some threshold. The study called such practice "situation-dependent governance." See Masahiko Aoki and H. Patrick (1994) for details.
