37 The estimates here are based on certain assumptions concerning employee ratio and the wage curve, and these assumptions change with companies' employment policies. For example, according to the Annual Survey of Corporate Behavior (FY2004), Cabinet Office, a trend can be identified whereby the higher the extent that employee performance is taken into account in wage calculations, the flatter the overall wage curve becomes in general (Appended Figure 3-26). Considering that not a few companies plan to introduce results-oriented assessments in the future, it is expected that the flattening out of the wage curve will be more pronounced. Therefore, in evaluating these results, some attention should be paid.
