56 OECD (2003). For Australia, Canada and the US, this is the ratio of foreign-born population in the overall population. For Italy and Japan, this is the ratio of registered foreigners in the overall population. And for the UK, it is an estimate from a labor survey. That is why the figure for Japan includes permanent residents such as Korean and North Korean residents of Japan.
