15 A regression analysis using the stepwise method was conducted for these variables: 1） the decision that companies, which had launched overseas operations, made to continue or withdraw operations in 1999 and 2002, and 2） the difference in financial indicators and other items in 1999 and 2002. Significant variables were selected after the regression analysis was conducted.
