I. Summary of survey
In order to study consumer psychology and the state of purchasing of durable consumer goods, the Cabinet Office commissioned the Shin Joho Center, Inc. to conduct a survey in March 2004. Out of the 2,000 males and females nationwide aged 20-69 covered in the survey, valid responses were received from 1,205 people (60.3%).
