(65) The various ministries and agencies, after exchanges of opinions with the Cabinet Office, made budget requests for the following 10 items that are in line with the main points of "Basic Policy 2003," etc. (1) Support for fostering the next generation of people in order to turn the tide of the declining birthrate, (2) Expansion of employment of young, long-term unemployed, (3) Establishment of the world's most advanced "low-emission vehicle" society, (4) Regeneration of safe and comfortable cities with greenery, (5) Promotion of symbiosis and convention of cities and rural villages, (6) Establishment of an environment where people from foreign countries can enjoy comfortable sightseeing, (7) Development of science- and technology-driven regional economy, (8) Strengthening measures to cope with emergencies, such as disasters, (9) Correction of criminals in cooperation with the private sector, and establishment of a system to support social rehabilitation, (10) Achievement of safe and efficient international logistics
