Note 3-32

(32) While employment has thus been diversified, we see no major change in accession paths where people find jobs. The Survey on Employment Trends gives a breakdown of accessions by accession path that indicates no major change throughout the 1990s, although we must note that the breakdown covers part-timers but not temporary staff. According to the breakdown for 2000, advertisement was the largest accession path, accounting for 32.3% of total accessions, followed by 26.7% for personal connections and 21.5% for "Hello Work" public employment security offices. As employment is diversified as discussed above, accession paths will have to change. In this respect, private employment agency, which accounted for 0.9% of accessions in 2000, are expected to grow more dominant, especially in urban regions.
