Note 3-89

(89) For instance, if the annual income of a housewife of a salaried worker is less than 1.3 million yen and if her working hours are less than three-fourths that of regular workers, she is eligible for basic pension without paying premiums. Thus, housewives of salaried workers are curbing labour supply by restraining their annual income to less than 1.3 million yen or by limiting their weekly work hours to less than 30 hours.
