The Government of Japan, with the Ministry of Finance and the Cabinet Office at its core, will host the 8th OECD World Forum on Well-being in Japan (Tokyo) in Autumn 2028 in cooperation with the OECD.
The OECD World Forum on Well-being is an international conference that brings together representatives and experts from governments, businesses, and other organizations to discuss policy making and corporate management approaches that incorporate societal stability and people's well-being that cannot be fully captured by traditional economic indicators alone. The Forum serves as a platform for sharing and engaging in dialogue on evidence and expertise to advance the measurement, policy design, and implementation of well-being initiatives. Since its inaugural edition in 2004, the Forum has been convened at regular intervals every few years; the autumn 2028 gathering will mark the first time it is held in Japan.
Holding this forum in Japan is expected to provide a venue for drawing on insights from around the world and showcase Japan’s approaches on the international community, while also fostering domestic momentum toward the promotion of well-being-oriented actions.
Further details regarding the hosting of the 8th OECD World Forum on Well-being in Japan have been published on the websites of the OECD and the Ministry of Finance.
