Economic Outlook and Basic Stance for Economic and Fiscal Management

The government's Economic Outlook and Basic Stance for Economic and Fiscal Management for the next fiscal year is usually approved by the Cabinet in December, and used in the government's budget formulation.
In the following month (usually in January), the Outlook, including details on government expenditure based on the next fiscal year's budget, is decided by the Cabinet.

Mid-year Economic Projection

The Cabinet Office submits the Mid-year Economic Projection, which includes re-estimated Economic Outlook and a preliminary outlook for the next fiscal year, to the Council on Economic and Fiscal Policy usually in July.
