(119) In order to promote the use of generic drugs, the revision of the medical fee schedule made in 2002 has set prescription charges and dispensing fees higher in the case where medical institutions made out a prescription containing generic drugs and in the case where pharmacies dispensed generic drugs than in the case where only original drugs were prescribed or dispensed.
