Note 1-10

(10) Generally speaking, Consumer prices are more sensitive to wage and profit trends than Domestic wholesale prices, as the ratio of Services, that are not included in Domestic wholesale prices, is high in Consumer prices. However, since Service prices have been moving sideways or have risen only slightly since the beginning of 2002, it is not the case that a difference in components has brought about different movements between Domestic wholesale prices that have been moving sideways and Consumer prices that have remained weak. The ratio of Services in the Consumer price index (General, excluding fresh food) is 52% (General services, 38%; public services, 14%).
